FreerideCheckpoint with LVS check
Modern modular system for information and safety in open terrain
With the help of modern LED technology, the FreerideCheckpoint provides a quick, up-to-date overview of the freeride options in a ski area. At central meeting points and access points to the open ski area, freeriders receive information adapted to the time of day and altitude on avalanche danger, weather situation, slope exposure and route, the transmission capability of their own avalanche transceiver, current events and possible dangers. This data helps to assessthe riskof the current situation, ensures safe access to the open ski area and promotes responsible behavior in the terrain.
The FreerideCheckpoint scores highly with cable car companies thanks to its flexible modular structure. The individual modules with modern LED displays, LED ticker, panoramic map or a weatherproof LCD HD screen can be combined as required. Each module uses existing technologies on site, such as the electronic CPS control system. This means that the FreerideCheckpoint can also be integrated into sitour panorama information systems, optimally adapted to the requirements of the ski area and individually designed in the corporate design.
The modules for avalanche danger levels, local weather and slope exposure communicate real-time information on LED color displays.
The avalanche danger data is automatically obtained from national and local avalanche warning services and the current danger level on the European Avalanche Danger Scale is displayed as an LED number depending on the time of day and altitude. On the weather module, the current temperature, snow depth and wind speed are transmitted to the LED displays via the CPS or another interface.
The slope exposure module visualizes potentially dangerous slope positions with the help of a language-independent sky direction cross.
This situational data is crucial for an accurate risk assessment and essential for freeriders to be safe on the slopes.
A central element of the FreerideCheckpoint is the Pieps avalanche transceiver check, which checks the functionality of avalanche transceivers at the touch of a button: The system receives the test signal and uses different colored LED symbols to indicate whether the device is ready for operation (green tick/red cross) and warns if the device is transmitting at the standard limit (orange circle). In this way, freeriders receive quick and language-independent feedback and additional safety, which increases confidence in the freeride infrastructure of the ski area.
The panoramic map including legend with route descriptions and current LED status displays gives freeriders a quick, language-independent overview of the terrain and which ski routes are currently open (green ticks) or closed (red crosses). The FreerideChekpoint makes it easier to find your way around the entire area.
An additional LCD outdoor screen can present additional content such as news, events, image spots or multilingual information that is easy to understand for international guests.
sitour offers the Freeride Tower as an ideal addition for access points to the open ski area . The current avalanche risk situation on site is also transferred to the tower via an interface from the local avalanche situation report, automatically updated on an ongoing basis and shown on LED displays. In addition, an all-round flashing light is integrated at the top of the tower to indicate danger and a Pieps avalanche transceiver check at body height. The Freeride Tower can also be customized in the individual design of the ski resort on request.
